Introducing Savanna 20/9/06

Princess Savanna (also known as Teenie) Born 20th September 2006 at 11.28pm weighing in at 7lb. and 10oz. or 3.56kg. She is 51cm. long. She is just absolutely beautiful. She latched onto the boob the minute she was born. As a matter of fact she was born with a blister on her right hand caused by her strong sucking on it while she was still in the womb.
Elise was first induced at 8.45pm on 19th Sept. so, a long labor was in store for her. She swears she will never want the gel as an induction measure in the future as the pain quickly set in upon application. She was due for a second gel application at 5am if nothing had happened, but the staff was too busy. Therefore she had to wait till 12pm for the second lot of gel. Once this was administered it immediately caused severe pain and she had to ask for a pethadine injection to help ease that pain. No dilation had occurred at this stage. Her waters broke at approximately 3.30pm on the 20th.with no intervention. Shortly after, labor well and truly set in and Elise asked for and was given an epidural at this stage. Savanna was born 8hrs. later. All up it was a 24hr ordeal.
