We All Meet With Hospital Registrar

This afternoon the Medical Registrar who is appointed to Mum's case requested a meeting with the family. This was very convenient as all of Mum's children and some grandchildren were all at the hospital. He basically spelt out that Mum had suffered a UTI and because it had prolonged the infection had spread to her blood. She also has early kidney failure. Basically he wanted to know if the family required aggressive treatment. He explained that her health was so low that she would be back in a few days presenting the same symptoms. The family had already discussed the situation and opted to keeping her hydrated and comfortable.

She will be moved into an observation ward pending the availability of a bed. We were all relieved that she will remain in hospital. I had spoken and pleaded to the Hospitals in Nursing Home Liasion CNC who was very understanding and obliging. She did explain the situation as I was very well aware that if the time is near they will accommodate our request but not if it dragged into days and weeks they may need to move her back into care.

We are all waiting and praying.
