The tragedy continues for our fellow Australians. In the 7.30pm News report this evening the death toll has risen to 66 at last count. Undated at 9.30pm 84 lives lost. Our prays are with these souls and their families.
Late last night the death toll was 14. A family of 6 died in one car alone. The news bulliton stated that 4 were children. This is totally devistating. Those poor people and all their families need all our prays to get through this great loss.

Survivors of Victoria's savage bushfires have told how the deadly inferno was like a tornado ripping through their homes as the death toll from the disaster hit 35.
"It was like half a dozen F-18s coming up the mountain at once and it gave you about three to five minutes to get inside and get out of the heat," said one man whose home at Kinglake, northeast of Melbourne, was completely destroyed.
"There was very little time to react," he said.
"The radiant heat was awesome. And then like that everything was gone. It's ripped my heart out, my life and soul."

Another victim told Nine News he narrowly escaped death in a car.
"It was like a tornado we were driving through, both sides of [the road] we were on, and I've never been so terrified in all my life ... you know I've never feared much in life but I tell you what, last night it was terrible."
It is feared the death toll of 35 will continue to rise as police move further into the burnt-out fire zones today.
At least 100 homes were destroyed as nine major blazes burned out of control across the state yesterday. (Read more: Towns still under threat)
More than 3000 firefighters and many more residents worked to contain fires in all corners of the state, including major fronts at Horsham, Coleraine, Weerite, Kilmore East, Bunyip, Churchill, Dargo, Murrindindi and Redesdale.
Once again our fire fighters are our heros.

Northern Queensland
The floods had subsided in far north Queensland but continual heavy rain has seen the flood waters return to the same areas. The resilient people who were interviewed on the news just stated that they would have to clean up all over again. Because the fires down south are so ferocious and claimed so many lives it has taken over as the most urgent news alert.

i have been keeping up with this on our world news, miss lucy... this morning kristen ^ posted a link to photos of the devastation, and when the slide show ended i noticed another slide show, which was related. it was of photos of those persons and families that were taken by the flames.
it is one think, i think, when we read numbers; but it is totally different when there are smiling faces that are placed with the numbers!!! it is heartbreaking... reminiscent of our 9/11.

Thank you my wonderful friends for dropping by. As you say Dani, it is so confronting when you see those beautiful faces who have perished. I have had you on my mind this last week thinking of your greatest loss in the 9/11. I know life goes on but we must always remember those souls who lost their lives through no fault of their own.
