Floods of Our Local Parklands

Our area has so many beautiful parks with so many connecting walkways and bikeways to go for a leasurley walk. They are utilized by so many walkers both in the morning and evenings. They are always kept very tidy and are incredibly picturesque. Bulimber Creek flows through much of the many parks and on very odd occasions when we experience a lot of rain, the banks of the usually small creek overflow.
Elise and I went to see the movie '27 dresses' this afternoon and on the way we could not believe how much water had overflowed into the parklands. On the way back we collected Troy and Savanna to check out the damage.

Even the ducks seemed to have enough of the water and were looking for some dry land to wander around in.


Troy tried to feed the ducks so they would come closer for Savann to check out, but they must have been fed by so many onlooker that they were not interested.

But one good thing came out of this excursion today, Savanna was saying "ducks ducks" whilst pointing to them. She is starting to say a few words now.



Normally there are walkways that go under the bridge which leads you from one park into another, but they were all underwater.

On the right I have pointed out the bikeway sign and the hand rail that belongs to the lane that leads you into one of the areas of the parkland.

The picnic table in the picture above has seen better days.

All the walkways lead to water. What were lush green parks with walkways and bikeways were now waterways.
